Playing Faster Than Our Skates

Team Speed Connects Every System.

The puck can travel faster than we skate. Passing, movement, and support let five players play faster together. Move your feet. Move the puck.

01 · START THE ATTACK

The First Pass

A clean first play connects recovery to offense. Scan, move, and give the receiver a puck they can use.

Across Our Systems

The first play may be a breakout pass, a quick regroup, a one-touch chip, or a supported stretch pass. Defensemen take pride in starting the attack, and teammates help by becoming useful options.

02 · CONNECT THE TEAM

Passing & Movement

Two easy passes beat one forced play. Pass with purpose, move to support, and give the puck carrier the next option.

Build Speed Together

Quick, clean connections make us harder to defend. Keep possession moving rather than forcing a difficult pass or dangle. The useful play depends on what the opponent gives us.

03 · CREATE DANGER

The Scoring Chance

Connect the pass to a shot, net drive, or finish. Make the goalie move and arrive for screens, tips, and rebounds.

Read the Last Pass

Take the useful shot when it is there. Make the extra pass when it creates the better chance. Do not pass away a clear scoring opportunity while waiting for a perfect play.

How We Create Goals

Snipes & Dangles: Use individual skill when the opening is there; keep building repeatable team chances.
Scoring Box Plays: Connect a pass to a quick shot between the dots, from the goal line up to the circles.
Money Goals: Screens, tips, and rebounds. Go to the net and compete for the next puck.
The Last Pass: Recognize the extra pass for an open finish when it is available.
